D.J.CI. President Modeste
Gnamé Seri

MODESTE
GNAMÉ SERI: Born 1966, Ivory Coast, INSET Banking
Institute graduate, American Institute of Banking Center for
Advanced Banking Studies graduate. Profession: Banker, political
and financial analyst. President
and Founder- D.J. CI. (Diaspora and Youth of Ivory Coast),
married, two children.
Like so many of
his fellow Ivorians, Modeste SERI has been living in exile due
to the over one decade-long violence in the Ivory Coast, whose
fundament is no other than the search for political power and
economic advantage by irresponsible politicians, which has
brought much suffering to this once striving West African
nation. He has been a resident of New York in the US since 1993.
During this time, he has continued his higher education and,
based on his outstanding skills and personal attributes of
honesty and commitment has achieved great success in his
professional field. Despite all the time spent in the US,
Modeste SERI has not forgotten his country of origin. He has
monitored the deteriorating situation in the Ivory Coast with
great anguish. Convinced that major changes in political and
civic attitudes are required to save the people of this land,
which was once an example of good governance for West Africa.
In order to
bring change to his country, Modeste Seri founded D.J.CI., (Diaspora
et Jeunesse de Côte d’Ivoire). This organization rallies
mostly young, better educated, democratically minded Ivorians,
who are tired of the rapacious and irresponsible politics that
have been so damaging to the country in the past.
Inside the Côte d’Ivoire, D.J.CI. is mentoring the
development of a grass-roots political reform movement, CUP-CI.
Their vision is for a Côte d’Ivoire which is inclusive for
all its people, peaceful, democratic, where human rights are
respected without ethnic or other discrimination, where economic
prosperity, education and social justice can be promoted through
a healthy partnership between the people and a clean,
accountable and transparent government for a society subjected
to a just rule of law. He also sees his country taking up an
important role as a global citizen, contributing to the progress
of Africa and of global peace.
